Cxapitro 1
1 Simon Petro, servisto kaj apostolo de Jesuo Kristo, al tiuj,
kiuj ricevis egale altvaloran fidon, kiel ni, en la justeco
de nia Dio kaj Savanto Jesuo Kristo:
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to
them that have obtained like precious faith with us through
the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2 Graco al vi kaj paco pligrandigxu en sciado pri Dio, kaj pri
Jesuo, nia Sinjoro;
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge
of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 pro tio, ke lia Dia povo donacis al ni cxion rilatantan al
vivo kaj pieco, per la scio de tiu, kiu nin vokis per sia
propra gloro kaj virto;
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things
that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge
of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 per kiuj li donacis al ni la promesojn karegajn kaj tre
grandajn; por ke per ili vi farigxu partoprenantoj en Dia
naturo, forsavigxinte el la putreco, kiu estas en la mondo
per voluptemo.
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious
promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine
nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world
through lust.
5 Kaj pro tiu sama kauxzo viaflanke aplikante cxian
diligentecon, en via fido aldonu virton; kaj en virto scion;
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith
virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 kaj en scio sinregadon; kaj en sinregado paciencon; kaj en
pacienco piecon;
And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and
to patience godliness;
7 kaj en pieco fratamikecon, kaj en fratamikeco amon.
And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly
kindness charity.
8 Cxar tiuj ecoj, se cxe vi ili trovigxas kaj abundas, faras
vin nek mallaboremaj nek senfruktaj en la scio de nia
Sinjoro Jesuo Kristo.
For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you
that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the
knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 Cxar tiu, al kiu mankas tiuj ecoj, estas blinda, miopa,
forgesinte la forpurigon el siaj antauxaj pekoj.
But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see
afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old
sins.
10 Sekve, fratoj, pli diligente klopodu, por certigi vian vokon
kaj elekton; cxar farante tion, vi neniam falpusxigxos;
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your
calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye
shall never fall:
11 cxar tiel al vi estos ricxe provizita la eniro en la eternan
regnon de nia Sinjoro kaj Savanto Jesuo Kristo.
For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly
into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus
Christ.
12 Pro tio mi cxiam estos preta rememorigi vin pri tiuj aferoj,
kvankam vi ilin scias kaj estas fortigitaj en la cxeestanta
vero.
Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in
remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be
established in the present truth.
13 Kaj mi opinias konvena, dum mi estas en cxi tiu tabernaklo,
vigligi vin per rememorigo;
Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to
stir you up by putting you in remembrance;
14 sciante, ke baldaux estos la demeto de mia tabernaklo,
gxuste kiel nia Sinjoro Jesuo Kristo montris al mi.
Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even
as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.
15 Kaj mi diligente penos, ke post mia foriro vi povu konstante
rememori tion.
Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my
decease to have these things always in remembrance.
16 Cxar ne sekvinte fabelojn sofismajn, ni konigis al vi la
potencon kaj alvenon de nia Sinjoro Jesuo Kristo, sed
vidinte per propraj okuloj lian majeston.
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we
made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
17 Cxar li ricevis de Dio, la Patro, honoron kaj gloron, kiam
al li tia vocxo estis alportita el la brilega gloro: Cxi tiu
estas Mia Filo, la amata, en kiu Mi havas plezuron;
For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when
there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory,
This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
18 kaj tiun vocxon, alportitan el la cxielo, ni mem auxdis,
kunestante kun li sur la sankta monto.
And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were
with him in the holy mount.
19 Kaj ni havas la profetan vorton konfirmitan; kiun atentante,
vi bone faras, kvazaux lampon lumantan en malhela loko, gxis
ektagigxos kaj la matenstelo eklevigxos en viaj koroj;
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do
well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a
dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in
your hearts:
20 antaux cxio sciante, ke neniu profetajxo de la Skribo
enhavas en si sian propran klarigon.
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of
any private interpretation.
21 Cxar neniam profetajxo estas alportita per homa volo; sed
homoj, movataj de la Sankta Spirito, parolis laux Dio.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:
but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy
Ghost.
Cxapitro 2
1 Sed ankaux falsaj profetoj trovigxis inter la popolo tiel
same, kiel inter vi estos falsaj instruistoj, kiuj sekrete
enkondukos herezojn pereigajn, ecx malkonfesante la
Sinjoron, kiu ilin elacxetis, kaj venigante sur sin rapidan
pereon.
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as
there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall
bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that
bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 Kaj ilian senbridecon sekvos multaj, per kiuj la vojo de la
vero estos kalumniata.
And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of
whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 Kaj en avideco per trompaj paroloj ili vin komercos; ilia
kondamno nun de post tre longe ne malfruas, kaj ilia pereo
ne dormas.
And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make
merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time
lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
4 Cxar se Dio ne indulgis angxelojn pekintajn, sed,
eninferiginte ilin en kavernojn de mallumo, transdonis ilin
rezervatajn por la jugxo;
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them
down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to
be reserved unto judgment;
5 kaj ne indulgis la mondon antikvan, sed gardis Noan kun sep
aliaj, predikanton de justeco, kiam Li sendis diluvon sur la
mondon de malpiuloj;
And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth
person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood
upon the world of the ungodly;
6 kaj, cindriginte la urbojn Sodom kaj Gomora, kondamnis ilin
per katastrofo, farinte ilin ekzemplo al estontaj malpiuloj;
And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes
condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample
unto those that after should live ungodly;
7 kaj savis justan Loton, cxagrenegatan de la senbrida konduto
de la malvirtuloj
And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation
of the wicked:
8 (cxar tiu justulo, logxante inter ili, en vidado kaj
auxdado, turmentis sian justan animon, tagon post tago, por
iliaj malvirtaj faroj);
(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and
hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their
unlawful deeds;)
9 la Sinjoro do scias savi el tento la piulojn, kaj teni sub
puno la maljustulojn gxis la tago de jugxo;
The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of
temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of
judgment to be punished:
10 sed precipe tiujn, kiuj iras laux la karno en volupto de
malpurajxo, kaj malestimas regadon. Arogantaj, obstinaj,
ili ne timas insulti auxtoritatojn;
But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of
uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they,
selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
11 sed kontrauxe, angxeloj, superante laux forto kaj potenco,
ne faras insultan akuzon kontraux ili antaux la Sinjoro.
Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring
not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
12 Sed tiuj, kiel bestoj senprudentaj, naskitaj laux naturo por
kaptado kaj pereo, blasfemante en aferoj, kiujn ili ne
scias, en sia putreco pereos,
But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and
destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand
not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
13 en malbono ricevante pagon por malbono; homoj, kiuj opinias
entagan dibocxon plezuro kaj estas makuloj kaj hontindajxoj,
dibocxante en sia uzado de la agapoj, dum ili kunfestenas
kun vi;
And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they
that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they
are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own
deceivings while they feast with you;
14 havante okulojn plenajn de adulto kaj ne reteneblajn de
pekado; forlogante malfirmajn animojn; havante koron lertan
por avideco; estante filoj de malbeno;
Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from
sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised
with covetous practices; cursed children:
15 forlasinte la rektan vojon kaj erarvaginte, sekvinte la
vojon de Bileam, filo de Beor, kiu amis la rekompencon de
malbonfarado;
Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray,
following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the
wages of unrighteousness;
16 sed li estis riprocxita pro sia malobeo; muta azeno,
parolante per homa vocxo, haltigis la frenezecon de la
profeto.
But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with
man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
17 Ili estas putoj senakvaj, kaj nebuletoj pelataj de ventego;
por ili la nigreco de mallumo estas rezervita.
These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with
a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for
ever.
18 Cxar, elparolante fanfaronajxojn de vanteco, ili forlogas en
la karnovolupton per senbrideco tiujn, kiuj jxus forsavigxis
de tiuj, kiuj vivadas en eraro;
For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they
allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much
wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live
in error.
19 anoncante al ili liberecon, ili mem estas sklavoj de
putreco; cxar al kiu iu submetigxas, al tiu ankaux li
sklavigxas.
While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the
servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of
the same is he brought in bondage.
20 Cxar se, forsavigxinte el la malpurajxoj de la mondo per la
scio de la Sinjoro kaj Savanto Jesuo Kristo, ili estos
denove tien implikitaj kaj venkitaj, ilia lasta stato
farigxos pli malbona, ol la unua.
For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world
through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,
they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter
end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 Cxar estus por ili pli bone ne ekkoni la vojon de justeco,
ol, ekkoninte gxin, returni sin for de la sankta ordono al
ili transdonita.
For it had been better for them not to have known the way of
righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from
the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 Al ili okazis laux la vera proverbo: Hundo reveninta al sia
vomitajxo, kaj porkino lavita al ruligxado en koto.
But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb,
The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that
was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
Cxapitro 3
1 Jam cxi tiun duan epistolon, amataj, mi skribas al vi; en
ambaux mi instigas vian sinceran menson per rememorigo;
This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both
which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2 por ke vi memoru la antauxdirojn de la sanktaj profetoj, kaj
la ordonon de la Sinjoro kaj Savanto per viaj apostoloj;
That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before
by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the
apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3 unue sciante, ke en la lastaj tagoj mokemuloj venos kun
mokado, irante laux siaj propraj voluptoj,
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days
scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 kaj dirante: Kie estas la anonco de lia alveno? cxar de kiam
la patroj endormigxis, cxio restas kiel de post la komenco
de la kreo.
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since
the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were
from the beginning of the creation.
5 Cxar ili volonte forgesas, ke cxielo ekzistis de antikve,
kaj tero kunmetita el akvo kaj meze de akvo, laux la vorto
de Dio;
For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of
God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of
the water and in the water:
6 per kio la tiama mondo, diluvite, pereis;
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with
water, perished:
7 sed la nuna cxielo kaj la tero per la sama vorto estas
destinitaj por fajro, rezervate gxis la tago de jugxo kaj
pereo de malpiuloj.
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same
word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day
of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 Sed ne forgesu cxi tiun unu aferon, amataj, ke cxe la
Sinjoro unu tago estas kiel mil jaroj, kaj mil jaroj kiel
unu tago.
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one
day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand
years as one day.
9 La Sinjoro ne malrapidas pri la promeso, kiel iuj
malrapidecon kalkulas; sed paciencas al vi, volante, ne ke
iuj pereu, sed ke cxiuj venu al pento.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men
count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not
willing that any should perish, but that all should come to
repentance.
10 Sed la tago de la Sinjoro venos, kvazaux sxtelisto; en tiu
tago la cxielo forpasos kun mugxa bruego, kaj la elementoj
brulante solvigxos, kaj la tero kaj la faritajxoj en gxi
forbrulos.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night;
in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise,
and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth
also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Cxar tiamaniere cxio tio solvigxos, kiaj homoj vi do devus
esti en sankta konduto kaj pieco,
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what
manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation
and godliness,
12 atendante kaj akcelante la alvenon de la tago de Dio, pro
kio la cxielo flamanta solvigxos, kaj la elementoj per fajra
brulado fluidigxos?
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God,
wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and
the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Sed laux Lia promeso ni atendas novan cxielon kaj novan
teron, en kiuj logxas justeco.
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new
heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Tial, amataj, tion atendante, klopodu trovigxi en paco,
senmakulaj kaj neriprocxindaj antaux Li.
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be
diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot,
and blameless.
15 Kaj rigardu la paciencon de nia Sinjoro kiel savon; kiel
ankaux nia amata frato Pauxlo, laux la sagxeco donita al li,
jam skribis al vi,
And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation;
even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the
wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 kiel ankaux en cxiuj siaj epistoloj, parolante en ili pri
cxi tio; en kiuj estas iuj aferoj malfacile kompreneblaj,
kiujn la malkleruloj kaj malkonstantuloj tordas, kiel ankaux
la ceterajn skribajxojn, al sia propra pereo.
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these
things; in which are some things hard to be understood,
which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do
also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 Vi do, amataj, cxi tion antauxsciante, gardu vin, por ke vi
ne forlogigxu per la eraro de la pekuloj, kaj ne defalu de
via propra konstanteco.
Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before,
beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the
wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
18 Sed kresku en graco kaj scio de nia Sinjoro kaj Savanto
Jesuo Kristo. Al li estu la gloro nun kaj gxis la tago de
eterneco. Amen.
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever.
